Hiking in Prespa National Park

Situated 45 km northeast of Korça and stretching across three nations: Albania, Macedonia and Greece, a little known natural treasure can be discovered.

With seven small rural villages, and no towns or industries, this virtually untouched park is great for walking and exploring.

The pristine waters of Lake Prespa are transparent and the shoreline is rocky, although beautiful sandy beaches can be found.

The lake’s geologic composition is limestone, of karstic and tectonic origin.  Maligrad Island, also known as Snake Island, lies in the Albanian part of Lake Prespa and features the 13th century remains of Saint Mary's Church, built within a massive rocky cavern and housing beautiful Byzantine murals, which can be found both inside and outside the structure.

Highlights:

  • Hiking in Prespa National Park
  • Discovering Maligrad Island and Saint Mary Byzantine Church, by boat
  • Local carp, cooked in the traditional way
  • Beautiful Landscapes
  • A touch of everyday life

Price: 30 euro per person (for a minimum of 8 persons)

Included in the price:

  • Transport
  • Professional Tourist Guide
  • Traditional lunch
  • Boat to and from Maligrad Island
